Plan For Our Community
1. Aggressively prosecute all drug cases and pursue the seizure of all monies funding
illegal drug activities.
* Expand the area of operation of the Drug Task Force
* Increase the number of police departments participating in the Drug Task Force
* Seize and forfeit all assets of illegal drug operations and use them to fund the
Drug Task Force
2. Organize, promote and assist in a coordinated Neighborhood Watch Program focusing
on troubled areas of our community. A police presence is not always possible and
community involvement is necessary to make our county a safer and better place to
live.
3. Institute the “Courtrooms to Classrooms Program.” This program is designed to
educate, increase awareness and provide hands-on experience to the youth of our
community about our legal institutions and their support activities.
* Local attorneys, law enforcement personnel, and judicial representations will
be invited to provide in school instruction regarding the function, operation and
objectives of the criminal justice system.
* A partnership with Pennsylvania Bar Association mock trial program will be
pursued and the program will be promoted and supported by the District
Attorney’s Office.
* District Attorney Office summer internships and after school work programs
will be open to local high school and college students.
4. Institute a “Public Awareness and Education Program.” This program is designed to
educate our community members about current legal issues and areas of concern, i.e.
scams, frauds, home security issues, etc … Information will be disseminated through
local newspapers, radio broadcasts and public forums.
5. Actively pursue the criminal prosecution of all individuals engaging in cruelty or
abuse of animals. In furtherance of this objective the district attorney’s office shall
pursue funding for the hiring of a humane officer.
